Rodger Smithson founded Electric Construction & Erection Inc. in 1988 as a complimentary business to his successful electric company Smithson Electric Inc. that was established in 1971 in Oviedo, Florida. His goal was to expand his commercial and industrial electrical capabilities through auguring and pole setting. Business has thrived for over 35 years with pole installation projects for local theme parks, amusement parks, golf courses, and local governments across the state, as well as local commercial and industrial businesses and private homeowners.

Rodger sold Smithson Electric Inc. in 2023 and in 2025 decided to complete his retirement and sell Electric Construction & Erection Inc. True to his commitment to both business legacies, Rodger passed Electric Construction & Erection on to his two children and a life-long family friend. Rodger entrusted them with the business to ensure his legacy of exceptional customer service and quality work would continue into the next generation.

A key figure in the company’s success is Bryant Hickson, a dedicated employee who has been with the company for over 25 years. As the primary operator and the face of Electric Construction & Erection Inc. Bryant is a testament to work ethic, skills and dedication. With his vast experience, he is up for any challenge.
